The Two Engines at a Glance
- YC6108 — the classic 6.87-litre platform, millions in service in buses, trucks and generators.
- YC6112 — the larger 7.8-litre derivative with higher output for heavy buses and trucks.
What Interchanges
Some small components — bolts, brackets, certain filters and sensors — are shared. However, pistons, liners, crankshafts and cylinder heads do not interchange between the 6108 and 6112 families. Bore and stroke differ, so always order by the part number stamped on your old component.
